James Thurston
Founder and General Director
Jim has
been in the full-time ministry since 1963 and has worked as a missionary
in Chile since 1966. Jim graduated
from Seattle Pacific University with a BA in education and an emphasis in communication.
After teaching in the Seattle public schools, he joined Campus Crusade for Christ (CRU) and was a campus evangelist at the University of Oregon and Southern Oregon for three years. He graduated from the
International Christian Graduate University School of Theology and was then sent to Santiago, Chile where he was the founder and director there for ten years
Just before going to Chile he
attended the Mexican Cultural Language Institute. In 1977, he attended the Catholic
University in Santiago, Chile where he studied television direction, production, camera,
TV broadcasting and lighting. While on furlough, he attended the Bellingham Vocational
Technical Institute studying advanced supervision and management and video production for
business and education.
He also attended Whatcom Community College and Western Washington
University where he studied introduction to business, computing, small business management
and The Joy of Writing.
In 1997, with his son Steve,
he started an internet ministry to the world and created Zona Verical.
He has received a number of honors:
In July 2000, he was chosen once again as a Chilean delegate to the
Billy Graham Congress on evangelism, Amstersdam 2000, in Holland. In 1991, he was chosen as a
Chilean delegate to ICMC International Christian Communications Conference in Sheffield,
England. In 1988-89 he was appointed National director of evangelism for 140 churches in
Chile. In 1986, he was chosen as a Chilean delegate to Billy Graham Congress in Amsterdam,
Holland. Since 1982 he has been the president of a beach community in Chile. He is the
founder and president of the radio club for English speaking people in Santiago. From
1981-1984 he was the President of the Santiago Missionary club. For four years he was the
National Sunday school director for 130 churches. He has received two special awards; In
1974 he was given special recognition by the Chilean government and in 1971 he received
the Outstanding Young American award. In 2016, the Chilean Congress awarded him the National Meritorious Ministry Service Award. Jim's hobbies are ham radio and computers.
Rev. Sally Thurston
Marriage Counsellor, Designer, Hospitality Director, and Women's Speaker
Sally comes to us with a rich heritage of ministry, both missions and pastoring. She has been in the ministry since 1970. She was involved in missions for nine years and four years of that time was in the Philippine Islands. After leaving the Philippines Islands, she ministered in churches from Florida to Washington State. Sally is gifted in teaching, music, and counselling.
She has done large musical Christmas productions such as the Living Christmas Tree and the Easter Living Cross. She designed the sets, the lighting, and the whole presentation. The Living Christmas Tree had over 40,000 lights and over a 100 people involved in the program. The program included music, drama and many special effects.
Sally is a gifted Bible teacher and Jim's wife since 2014.
Paul Thurston
Producer, Videographer, Editor
Paul is
one of the producers at Studio JTV. After graduating from Messiah College with a BA in
Radio, TV and Film, he quickly joined the ranks at Studio JTV to infuse human factors into
technical videos. As well as being a producer Paul is the designer, programmer and
Webmaster for Studio JTV's World Wide Web site. Paul is also a film maker, screenwriter,

Mary Jane Thurston
Music Assistant
Mary
Jane is an occasional music programmer for Studio JTV productions. She has also acted and
participated in various video and television productions such as Chile's first channel to
offer non-violent programming for children, "RC Sports" program at the Rainbow
Club station where she co-anchored. |
